Why do you allow tourist to visit your peaceful monastery?

Well, at the beginning, there were not many tourists visiting the monastery. Those who visited were also those who could appreciate the monastery and its campus. Nowadays, we can see there are some crazy 😜 and stupid tourists who disturb and annoy the other nice 👍 friend tourists around them. I’m feeling sorry 😐 for that.

Craziness and stupidity are arisen by lack of knowledge with a particular country and its culture one is experienced at the moment, unnecessary conceit and lack of proper education. Actually, those who travel around the world as tourist must learn from the countries they are visiting. They are totally responsible to follow the rules and regulations of the country in which they are visiting.

They are totally responsible to respect the culture, the tradition and the religion that people have practiced in the particular country. They, tourists are guests to the country they are visiting. Guests are guests; they should not forcibly intrude into the privacy of the country they are visiting, particularly the sites of monastery.

You need to ask a permission from the responsible even if you want to do something in which you are not sure of whether you are going to disturb or not. You should not disturb the others either by taking so many pictures without asking any permission from a particular person.

We, Mahagandhayon monastery, have never invited any tourists before and will never invite any tourists to come to visit and will never reject any tourists either to leave the monastery. It is the monastic practice of loving-kindness meditation to everyone without discriminating.

Of course, when we totally feel disturbed 😳 and annoyed 😒, we will close the main door 🚪 writing a sign “No tourist”. Actually, not only Buddhist monastery but also any monastery, Christian or Muslim or Hindu or Jewish can be visited by anyone but with due respect.

Mahagandhayon monastery is like a university teaching Buddhist philosophy and Pāli literature very seriously and put into practice as much as we can so this monastery is busy with its own tasks and duties.

If you, tourists can visit the monastery as scholars quite well-educated without bringing gun cameras for disturbing monks, novices and monasteries, you can appreciate the monastery, the student monks and novices who are studying and senior and junior teachers, assistants and lecturers on their respective duties and its clean and peaceful campus.

The pictures I uploaded are showing the way how they are interested in and the way how they are brought up. I hope you get it. I hope you will all learn something quite seriously.
