What do you want to do? Learn and Choose.

“Charity never made you poor;
Stealing never made you rich and
Wealth never made you wise”.

This proverb in only three simple sentences makes it so meaningful. There is nothing to argue with the meaning of the sentences. It is not only a proverb to read or recite but to apply and to prove how it works right. This proverb is encouraging us to do charity, to avoid from stealing and to being indulged in so-called wealth. Actually, I live this way and I love this proverb. I hope you would learn from it.

The irrelevant conditions in many parts of Myanmar

We really need more capacity of patience, tolerance and understanding to bring up Myanmar to its dignity sooner or later. We need time; I believe that time will heal most of the broken parts of the country corrupted for a long time by military regime. I believe that the lady, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi will do all the best she can. If we really love the country, Myanmar and the people, we must work with her together very closely.

There are so many things irrelevant in many situations of the country, Myanmar caused by impatience, lack of proper education and lack of international experiences and strong sense of selfishness, self-interest, fear, distrust and insecurity. Actually the people of Myanmar is lucky to have Aung San Suu Kyi who is so willing to fulfill the wishes of the Burmese but some of the stupid are not able to appreciate her heart and activities. It is unfortunate. I’m sorry for that.

Metta Vs Hate

Metta is the best medicine to heal both one’s burning heart and the others’. Hate should wisely be replaced by unconditional love (Metta) so that we could bring all the positive benefits to all of us. Metta is the only energy that can make us courageous to face everything hard and soft for peaceful solution of a problem. I believe that Metta, unconditional love can be developed by wisdom.

Dhamma

It is suitable for monk to think about the Dhamma. It is suitable for monk to talk about the Dhamma and it is suitable for monk to act according to the Dhamma.

My mind is always thinking about the Dhamma and I don’t keep it in me. I try to transfer my dhamma wisdom to the lay people so that they can properly apply as much as they can in their daily life. Even taking sun bathing in the sun, my mind gets used to observing the nature of impermanent (Anicca). All the nature around me is changing every moment not by any external agent but in its own law. Now, rainy season is ended and the winter is turned following the law of season. At the same time, my mind and my body are changed dependent on each other. During rainy season, I haven’t gotten natural heat of the sun because of cloudy and humid weather particular in my forest. I need natural heat of the sun. After rainy season, the sun rises again from covering under thick clouds. When the sun rises, my forest is so beautiful in green trees with their shadows. I feel relaxed and recharged or re-energized when I take sun bathing. Continue reading “Dhamma”

To keep faith balanced with understanding

Only when a Yogi can keep faith balanced with Wisdom will the Yogi be able to attain the Ultimate Peace, Nibbana. To keep the faith balanced with wisdom, the Yogi must be attentively and precisely mindfully of whatever arises and passes way. There is nothing to do with religious idea but it is a practical matter. In the practice of meditation, the approach to the truth is very scientific and interesting too. The attainment of Ultimate Peace is not possible to be reached by mere thinking or mere religious prayer. While religion is seriously talking about blind or unquestioning faith, the Buddha is seriously teaching how to keep the faith balanced with wisdom. It makes me wonderful. I have never seen that the Buddha disturbs anyone or anything. I feel the Buddha is really wise teacher whose heart is qualified by very deep and powerful wisdom and imbued with deep love and compassion.

Difference between Buddhism and religion

  • Religion makes conversion.
  • Conversion makes quantity.
  • Quantity makes competition.
  • Competition makes the faithful think of war.
  • War needs weapons.
  • Weapons need money.
  • Money needs business people.
  • Business people creates capitalism.
  • Capitalism destroys sense of democracy.
  • Democracy needs wise people.
  • Wise people want to live peacefully and happily.
This is the reason why the wise are searching the Dhamma.
It is also the reason why the wise meet the Buddha’s Teaching.
The Buddha’s Teaching is the only teaching that can guide us how to live peacefully and happily while carrying our daily tasks and activities unavoidably and leading family life.

How to practice to lead the organization

It is an advice for how to practice to lead the organization. This is also the way I have practiced for a long time.

(1). don’t do anything that can make your followers, supporters and students doubted and suspicious by your thoughts, words and deeds.

(2). You must be ready to acknowledge that the pinions and thoughts can be always different from each other. Therefore, you must do more than discussion of thoughts and dry philosophy as you know ‘Action speaks louder than words’.

You should also avoid being indulged in the discussion of impractical thoughts and philosophy because life is too short. We must just focus on what we should and must do while living at the precious moment.

I love all of you.

A Little Meditation Technique

We must practice meditation in four natural postures: siting, walking, standing and reclining. Just in the natural postures there is nothing special in meditation. Something really special in meditation is a firm, strong and healthy “Mindfulness” on the object of meditation. We must be firmly mindful of everything in these four postures. Actually, we have add “Mindfulness” to our daily activities when we do this meditation. Continue reading “A Little Meditation Technique”
