The Voice of Truth , Thitsarmyain named in Burmese, founded by Ven. Ashin Kelasa 14 years ago is always quiet and clean whether it is filled with yogis or it is empty. The Buddha much praised the nature of the foTheravada Buddhist Forest Traditionrest and its clean environment full of love and compassion allowing different kinds of lovely animals to live and exist in the same forest and meditating Yogis from different parts of the world.
Ven. Ashin Kelasa also praised the nature of the forest and its clean environment as the Buddha did. He also loves quiet environment to practice meditation very well. He did not like cutting even a single tree. If he saw someone who cuts a tree, he goes to that person immediately, gets used to telling and explaining “Trees must not be cut but should be let grow”.
The major rules of his forest center are as follows:–
(1). Thitsarmyain Quality of Dhamma & Vinaya (Pariyatti ) must be completely based on the Pāli canons study (Pariyatti) taught and studied in the method of my mother monastery, Mahāgandhayon.
(2). No noice. If it is necessary to make noice, it must be soft.
(3). Only those who who will take meditation retreat will be allowed to stay in the forest by following the rules and regulations of Thitsarmyain.
(4)Monk yogis have to follow:- the following special rules:
Money he took must be abandoned
One meal system must be followed without any question
Monk has to wake up at 3:00 a.m. and ends the schedule at 9:00 p.m. everyday.
There will be only two times a day for lay yogis and monk yogis to meet with Ven. Ashin Kelasa: one time in the morning when Ven Ashin Kelasa gives a talk of meditation technique at 9:00 a.m. every morning. Another is in the afternoon when Ven. Ashin Kelasa interviews Yogis at 4:00. The rest of the day must be silent by meditating mindfully and attentively.
(5). No cutting even a single tree.
(6). No money in the hand of monk. Donation Money should be handled and managed by trustworthy and reliable trusty of Ven. Ashin Kelasa’s devotees under supervising of Ashin Kelasa.
(7). No woman is privately allowed to stay with monk alone.
If a monk breaks one of these major rules, he has to leave by himself.
Ven. Ashin Kelasa wanted to internationalize Buddhism or the Buddha’s Teaching so that everybody without restriction can follow and observe the Dhamma in everyday life because he believes that Dhamma is already universal. There is no need to universalize the Dhamma.
However, Buddhism is practiced as a religion by the traditional so it unfortunately becomes sectarian. The mindset of Every Buddhist must be updated with modern education, science and philosophy. Buddhism for me is already advanced in its truth but because of the traditional, Buddhism becomes something else.
