Could you please tell us a bit more of how we should start with this mindfulness?

Q: Buddhism becomes quite popular in the west in these days. Mindfulness meditation is a commonly suggested technique of meditation. However, we have no idea of how to start. Could you please tell us a bit more of how we should start with this mindfulness?

A: Well, the best way you should start is taking a retreat course for a certain time, such as maybe 7 days’ course under my instruction of mindfulness meditation. You should manage your time of holiday or vacation. Of course, traveling around the world can you broader-minded by learning different cultures and traditions; it is nice in one hand.

On the other hand, we should also travel into our spiritual world through entertaining practice of mindfulness by attentively being mindful of whatever we do taking silent retreat course conducted by a really experienced master of this meditation. Only then can you be well and skillfully guided in the technique.

Only then can you bring the technique with you to home not by writing in your books but by writing in your heart. This is the best way to start this meditation by taking a course of retreat. However, there is a good start I get used to advising people. Every morning as soon as you wake up, don’t get up immediately; lie down in bed comfortably and pay attention to your in-breath and out-breath just for 2 minutes. You should do it every morning regularly just for 2 minutes in bed. This may be a good start of this meditation for you. If you need to do it more, I believe that you will find the way to continue.

Q: It’s very interesting and we believe it is a good start too. We will remember that from you. Thank you so much Sir for your generous time and knowledge.
